WYATT VANCE

Wyatt Vance died Monday, February 26, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bertha Keeler, of Lewis, Colorado, where he had made his home since the death of his wife, Dora Lazenby Vance.

He was a son of Benjamin and Lovicy Roberts Vance born at Keosauqua, Iowa, April 8, 1863.

During most of his life he was a carpenter, sawmill and threshing machine operator in Keosauqua and Cantril and vicinity.

His latter years were spent in southwestern Colorado and his last visit to Van Buren county was about three years ago. In December of 1943 he suffered a stroke of paralysis, and a few days before his death another stroke.

Surviving are his seven children, Hollis Vance of Milton, Mrs. Keo Anderson of Cantril, Mrs. Anna Workman of St. Petersburg, Florida, Mrs. Bertha Keeler of Lewis, Colorado, Mrs. Io McClellan of Cortez, Colorado, and Ralph and Earl Vance of Lakeview, Oregon.

Funeral services were held Friday at Cortez, Colorado, with interment beside his wife in Cortez cemetery.

Mrs. Frank Anderson went from Cantril to attend the funeral services.
