Funeral services for Sgt. Valjean Maurice Roberts, 44, of Newport News, VA, a Findlay naative, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church, Newport News, the Rev. Herbert Hill officiating.
Burial will be in Veterans Memorial Garden, Hampton, VA.
Sgt. Roberts died Monday morning in Hampton, VA.
He was born Aug. 17, 1930 in Findlay to Ernest and Carrie Roberts. His mother survives in Toledo.
Also surviving are his wife, Peggy J., Newport News; a daughter Vicki Lynn and sons Valjean Jr. and Christopher, all at home; sisters, Mrs. Rowena Marshall, Toledo; Mrs. Maxine Williams, Columbus; and brothers, Melvin, Compton and Austin, all of Findlay.
A retired Air force sergeant, Mr. Roberts was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association and the AME Church, Findlay.
