Mrs. Ruby Irene Ford Garrett age 94 of Thomaston Ga, died Tuesday December 23, 2014 at Providence Health Care.
Mrs. Garrett was born on November 30, 1920 in Carroll County Ga, to the late Jackson and Lena Allen. She was formerly employed with B.F. Goodrich Mills where she worked in the Spinning Room. Mrs. Garrett was a member of The Baptist Tabernacle for many years and later joined Clark's Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Leonard Garrett, brothers Mr. Melvin Allen, Mr. Lamar Allen, Mr. Pete Allen, sisters Mrs. Ailene McKenzie, Mrs. Jesie Mae Adams.
Survivors include her sons Mr. Jimmy (Carol) Ford of Thomaston Ga, Mr. Jackie (Patty) Ford of Thomaston Ga, brother Mr. Walter (Gloria) Allen of Carrollton Ga, Mr. Wayne Allen of Carrollton Ga, sister Mrs. Laverne (Johnny) Hayes of Newnan Ga., Mrs. Doris Rogers of Morrow Ga. 8 Grandchildren. 15 Great Grandchildren. 3 Great Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday December 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Friday December 26, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the local Gideon Camp at P.O. Box 1034 Thomaston Ga. 30286.
