Amasa Ericksen, 83, one of the first workers on the Mt. Pleasant electric plant, died at the family home after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Ericksen was born in Mt. Pleasant Oct. 10, 1865, a son of pioneer parents, Lars and Christina Hansen Ericksen and attended the early schools in this city. He was married Nov. 20, 1889, to Ethel Cottrell. They have always made their home in this city. He formerly was city street supervisor and served 21 years as operator at the city electric plant. He had been an active community and church worker and was a member of the South ward seventies quorum, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Surviving are his widow, two sons and five daughters, Evan Ericksen of Los Angeles, Cal.; Lorin Ericksen of Burbank, Cal.; Mrs. Ralph Leonard of Portland, Ore.; Mrs. L. Croft Larsen, Provo; Mrs. Charles Snedden, Baker, Ore.; Mrs. Jack Alme, American Fork, and Miss Marjorie Ericksen, Salt Lake; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Mina E. Pritchett, Glendale, Cal.; Mrs. O. C. Andersen, Dallas Tex., and Mrs. Lena Sorensen, Provo.
