Margaret Ann (Maggie) Finney, daughter of Kenneth and Mary Duker of Brookfield, Missouri, died December 5, 2014, at her home.
Maggie was born January 16, 1937, in Brookfield.
She married Ronald (Ron) Finney on Aug. 24, 1957.
Maggie attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she received her degree in Child Development while also pursuing a degree in journalism. She taught at two pre-schools before founding Alpha Pre-School in Raytown in 1970 and operated the school for 20 years before passing the school on to one of her teachers.
Maggie is survived by her husband of 57 years, her children, Michael and wife Linda of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Susie and husband Doug Buttery of Granby, Colorado; daughter, Kathy Finney of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and son, Patrick and wife Dawn of Columbia, Missouri; her grandchildren, Jessica Buttery of Denver, Colorado, Danielle Mehlenbacher and great granddaughter, Libby of Raytown, Missouri, Brent Mehlenbacher of Lee's Summit, Ian Finney of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Isolde Finney of Columbia.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 8, at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, also at the Funeral Home.
