Tracy Lee Chambers, 9, of Dalton, Ga., and formerly of Scott County, passed away suddenly Sunday, August 6, 1989, at the Eggleston Children's Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Alice Silcox Byrd; one uncle, James West; and one aunt, Alice West. He was a fourth grade student at the Antioch Elementary School in Dalton, Ga. Tracey is survived by his parents, Paul and Kathy West Chambers of Dalton, Ga.; two sisters: Stephanie Chambers and his twin sister, Stacy Chambers; two brothers: Christopher chambers and Jamie Lee Robbins; his grandparents: Barbara F. McCarroll of Oneida, and Robert Chambers of Oneida, James and Shirley West of the Grave Hill community; his great-grandparents: Lawrence Byrd of Oneida, and James and Mavis Slaven; several aunts and uncles; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Marcum and Rev. Ottis Byrd officiating. Paul and Beverly Chitwood sang. Burial was in the Slaven Cemetery in the Grave Hill community. West-Murley Funeral Home in Oneida was in charge of the arrangements. (Source: The Scott County News, 10 Aug 1989, p10)
