Hubert "Huey" Bryant

Hubert "Huey" Bryant was born November 23, in Shreveport, LA. to Ray and Cammie Bryant. He passed away peacefully at home on December 25, 2014 after a lengthy illness.
Huey was a graduate of Fair Park High School and then attended LSU Baton Rouge and Centenary College. He began his working career for KCS Railroad and then UOP where he retired in 1996 after 30 years of service.
He was a loving husband, father, and friend. He was recognized by the City of Shreveport for his numerous years of coaching little league baseball and football and was called "Coach Bryant" by many. Throughout the years he enjoyed camping, fishing, and spent many hours with his "Buddies" on the golf course. He was also a 32nd degree Mason and member of Fair Park Fraternal Lodge.
Huey was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, one brother; and son-in-law, Joseph "Butch" Reed. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jerry "Roby" Bryant; son, Keith Bryant(Christy), daughter, Lorna Bryant Reed; grandchildren, Chris Reed, Kevin Reed(Leah), Kelly Reed Watson(Chris), Ashley Bryant, Hope Bryant Gregorski(Jeff), Cammie Bryant, and Blaine Bryant; eleven great-grandchildren with one on the way' mother and father-in-law Howard and Jerry Walker; sister-in-law Colene Haston(Joel), brothers-in-law Vance(Marianna) and John Walker(Melinda); and several nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral home, Shreveport, LA. A graveside service with the family will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
