Rainey, Sadie Ball

Sadie Ball Rainey, 86, of McKenney, died Thursday, February 14, 2002 at her residence. A native of Dinwiddie County, she was a daughter of the late, Thomas W. and Lucy Frances West Ball. Mrs. Rainey was an employee of the former Rochester Button Factory for over twenty-seven years and a member of Concord Presbyterian Church in Rawlings VA. Her husband John Frances Rainey preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty W. Branham of Chesterfield, Savannah W. Finch of Kittrell N.C., three sons, John I. Wells and wife Katie of McKenney, Marvin Wells, of McKenney, and Roy B. Wells and wife Pat of Chesterfield. Ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sisters,, Mrs. Mary B. Nunnally of Dinwiddie and Mrs. Florence B. Moore of McKenney and a brother Thomas F."Peter" Ball of Dinwiddie.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 17, 2002 at 2PM in the Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights with the Rev. Rob Hoskins officiating. Interment will follow in Rocky Run United Methodist Church Cemetery in DeWitt at 3:30 PM The family will receive friends tonight from 7-8:30 at the funeral home.
