John J. Werwatz, 78, Husband of Mrs. Nora (Marum) Moore Werwatz of 36 Garden Ave, Somerset died Saturday after a long illness.
Born in New York City, son of the late John and the late Louise (Bolz) Werwatz, he lived here for many years before moving to Somerset 20 years ago.
With his wife he founded and operated Nora's Restaurant for many years until his retirement 14 years ago, and prior to that was employed by the Fall River Line for 20 years.
Besides his widow he leaves a daughter, Mrs. William T. (Katherine) Peirce of Somerset, a son, Deputy Fire Chief Thomas J. Moore; two sisters, Miss Lillian and Miss Catherine Werwatz, both of Somerset; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 P.M. in the Waring Home, 178 Winter St. Interment will be in Nathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset.
