Mrs. Adeline F. (Slade) Chace, widow of Charles A. Chace, a lifelong resident of Swansea, died last night at her home in South Swansea. She was in her 84th Mrs. Chace was born March 29,1849, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abner Slade. He was married on Sept. 26, 1872, to Charles A. Chace, who died five years ago. She was a member of the Friends church, Somerset, and or the Missionary society connected with that church. She was also a member of the W. C. T. U, and for many years was prominently identified with the activities of the church and its affiliated organizations. Mrs. Chace was a woman of strong Christian character, deeply devoted to her home and family. She was widely known throughout the community of which she been a lifelong member, and had enjoyed the respect and esteem of her wide circle of friends. Surviving her are three sons, Benjamtn Slade Chace of Swansea, Dr. Arthur Chace, prominent surgeon in New York city, and Warren O. Chace of Medford; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held at her late home at 3 Saturday afternoon.
