Thomas Heflin Butler of Mary Esther, Florida beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014.

(Tom) Heflin was born on June 8, 1930 in Seman, Alabama to Harvey and Pearl Butler. He served in the United States Air Force for 26 years, retired as a MSgt and will be buried with military honors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph and Wayne, and granddaughter, Jennifer Leigh Altizer.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 66 years, Mary Catherine Evans Butler; daughters, Terry (Rick) Zelius, Jan (Phillip) Altizer, Cathy (David) Hellmann; grandchildren, Shannon (John) Geiger, Todd (Rachael) Altizer, Allison (DJ) Konopka, Cayla Morgan, Lindsi Hellmann, Christian Zelius; great-grandchildren, Courtney and Ashton Geiger, Jason and Brayden Konopka, Hayleigh DuBose, Logan and Maecy Zelius.

Pall bearers will be Richard Zelius, Phillip Altizer, David Hellmann, Todd Altizer, John Geiger, and DJ Konopka.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 1:00 PM with services following at 2:00 PM at McLaughlin Funeral Home, Ft. Walton Beach, FL and graveside honors at Beal Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
