Sarah E. Morton, age 85, of Henderson, KY passed away at 5:55 A.M. Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Redbanks Colonial Terrace, Sebree, KY under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice.

Sarah was born in Nebo, KY to Ernest and Bradie Cates, both her parents were farmers. Mrs. Morton earned her Bachelors of Arts from the University of Evansville and Master's Degree in education from Murray State University. She later went on to complete her Rank #1 in the area of school administration. Mrs. Morton taught in the Henderson County School System for 27 years before retiring. She taught grades 2nd-4th mostly at 7th Street, South Heights, and Jefferson Elementary Schools. Mrs. Morton also taught special reading classes Corydon and South Heights Elementary Schools. She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church. Sarah enjoyed reading and was an avid bridge player; she was involved in two bridge clubs.

In addition to her parents, Sarah was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Morton, 3 sisters, Mary Lee Fox, Annie Ruth Reeder, and Lila Faye Rowley.

2 Sons: Mike Morton and wife Connie
Jeff Morton and wife Haley all of Robards, KY
Brother: Douglas Dame Cates and wife Jackie of Evansville, IN
2 Grandsons: Hunter Morton and Forrest Morton both of Charlestown, IN
Niece: Ferbie Fox of Park Forrest, IL

Relatives and friends are invited to Sarah's Life Celebration from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the funeral home with Reverend Jim Wofford officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
