Galesburg – Nellie Elroy, 91 of Galesburg, formerly of Victoria, died at 11:10pm Wednesday at Seminary Manor in Galesburg. Born 26 May 1897 in LaFayette, daughter of John and Emma (Reed) Todd, she was educated in the rural Victoria schools. She had spent most of her life in the Williamsfield area where she was a member of the Center Prairie United Methodist Church. She married Forrest Cain on 17 Oct. 1917 in Monmounth. He died 14 January 1959. She married Harry McElroy 4 May 1968. He died 24 May 1983. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, four sisters and one grandchild. Surviving are one son Donalt Cain of Williamsfield; two daughters Loraine Baldwin of Brooks, Ga., and Lavonne Marshall of Galesburg, seven grandchildren; 10 great grand children and two sisters Ava Craig and Louise Todd, both of Galva. Graveside services will be Saturday 17 December in Galva Cemetery.
