Ben Edmond (Eddie) Gibson, 70, passed away September 3, 2014 with heart and lung complications at Baptist Hospital in Collierville, TN. He was born August 31, 1944 in Evansville, IN to Thomas Neal Gibson and Vallye B. Gibson. He was raised in Memphis, TN and went by the name of Eddie. When he moved to Oxford, MS he went by Ben. He was in the Marine Corps and honorably discharged in 1969 after 6yrs. He was retired, but worked as a transmission mechanic in Memphis and Oxford, MS. Mr. Gibson was an avid fisherman and fished from his youth way into his adult life. He had many, many fishing buddies in Memphis and in Oxford, MS he enjoyed spending his time with. Mr. Gibson leaves behind Ben E. Gibson Jr. son (Memphis), Ron L. Gibson, brother (Swannanoa, S. Carolina), Betty D. Gibson, sister (Memphis), grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. His older brother Thomas (Tommy) N. Gibson Sr. passed away February 2014 in Kingman Arizona. Private graveside service by family members only. Any memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
