ALTON - Regina Price went to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:30 a.m. on December 26, 2014.

She was born March 11, 1920, to Albert and Annie (Jenkins) Watson in Alton, Ill. She married Harvey H. Price on February 16, 1952. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1992.

She graduated from Alton Senior High School in January 1938. She worked as a bookkeeper/secretary in a number of businesses in the area but her greatest joy was serving as church/educational secretary at Alton First Southern Baptist Church where she was a charter member, church pianist, Sunday school teacher and other places of service. She enjoyed music and was an accomplished pianist. During her lifetime, she accompanied many singing groups and assisted in furthering their musical endeavors. She enjoyed being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was happiest when sharing good times and laughter with her family and others she loved. She appreciated all the wonderful people she knew, young and old, who enriched her life. Family and friends made her life a wonderful journey. She would like to be remembered with smiles of love and, if tempted to be sad, remember some happy times that you shared with her.

Surviving are her daughters, Carla Brandt (Jim) of Londell, Mo., Sharon Montgomery (Randy) of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren, Gina Garner (Robert Winthrop) of Lansing, Mich., Darin Garner (Traci), Kristen Willis (Jon), and Holly Ayres all of St. Louis, Mo.; five great-grandchildren, Emily, Gavin, Landon, Logan and Nathan; one sister-in-law, Gwen Watson of Swansea, Ill.; nieces and nephews, Bruce Watson of Tyler, Texas, Denise Watson White of Tyler, Texas, Gayle Pence of Edwardsville, and Mary Watson of Chesterfield, Mo.; as well as many cousins and friends at Hillcrest Apartments and Glenhaven Gardens where she lived. Also surviving are four special friends, Ruby Blair, Alice Lewis, Mildred Hawkins, and Diana Boullion.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, James, Durward (Marjorie), and Dr. Thurman Watson (Sue); and nephews, Terry Watson and Don Pence.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30. Reverend Warren Brown will officiate. Burial will be private at Upper Alton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Cottage Hills.
