OBITUARY
Mrs. Wm. F. Larew the daughter of Wm. S. And Altheda Norton was born at Courtland, Ill., April 10, 1865 and died at her home near Lone Tree, Ia., August 31, 1931, age 66 years, 5 months and 21 days. While yet a child she came with her parents to Iowa and located in Washington county. In early girlhood she made a profession of faith and united with the M.E. Church and remained a faithful member of the same until her death. About eight years ago she suffered a stroke of paralysis that confined her to her home ever since. Up to then she never missed church service or a meeting of the Ladies Aid unless prevented by illness.
In 1880 she was united in marriage to Wm. F. Larew. To them was born nine children, three of whom preceded her in death. Floris Viola, and Mary Rose died in childhood while an infant died at birth. She is survived by her husband, Wm. F. Larew and six children: Mrs. Maude Carl, Fawcett, Alberta, Canada; Chas., Harry, John and Miss Ivy, Lone Tree, Ia.; and Floyd, Oak Park, Ill. Two brothers still survive her: Orlo Norton, Arlington, Iowa and Dan Norton, Denver, Colorado. She also leaves five grandchildren to mourn her passing. Outside her immediate family she is mourned by a host of friends. In fact, her calm, sweet motherly disposition endeared her to all who knew her. Such beauty of character does not succumb to the apparent destructiveness of death but enters through the portal of physical death into that life that has no end.
"Why do we mourn for dying friends
Or shake at death's alarms?
'Tis but the voice that Jesus sends
To call them to his arms."
