NORMA LEE McCLANAHAN, daughter of Floyd R. and Fleda Johnston Long, was born in Niangua, Missouri, on September 25, 1923, and departed this life December 25, 2014, in Republic, Missouri, at the age of ninety-one years. Norma graduated from Niangua High School in 1941. She made friends easily and kept in contact with many of her school friends. On August 15, 1955, she was united in marriage with Mack McClanahan, and they made many wonderful memories together. She was a devoted homemaker and provided a warm and loving home for her family. For several years Norma was a representative for Avon, and truly enjoyed selling cosmetics to her family and friends. Norma attended Southern Heights Christian Church for many years, and later attended Second Baptist Church. She appreciated the fellowship and prayers from her church family. Those surviving include two sons, Ernest Emmerton and his wife Charlotte of Nixa, Missouri and Charles Bruce Emmerton and his wife Karen of Stafford, Virginia; one sister, Lucille Davis of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Justin and his wife Sara, Brenna and her husband Jason, Cynthia and her husband Mac, and Craig and his wife Ashley; eight great-grandchildren, Hadley, Jett, Mackenna, Reagan, Maddylynn, Jackson, Kerrie and Justin; other relatives and friends. Norma is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mack McClanahan, and by a brother Charles Long. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she will be deeply missed.
