Mrs. Allen was born October 19, 1924 in Johnston County to the late Clyde and Roaner Barefoot McLamb. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Waylon C. Allen, Sr.; sisters, Burlene A. Turner and Eloise McLamb; and a brother, C. B. McLamb, Jr.. Mrs. Allen worked at Fieldcrest and Block Industries. She was a homemaker and helped on the family farm.
Surviving include her son, Waylon C. "Junior" Allen, Jr. and wife, Susie, of Four Oaks; sisters, Marie M. Parker, Helen M. Baker, and Betty Jean M. Tart, all of Benson; brother, James McLamb of Florence, SC; three grandchildren & spouses, Travis & Karla Allen, Kim Allen, and Kelly & Adrienne Allen; and five great grandchildren, Kayla Allen, Cody Allen, Ryan Presley Allen, Ava Blair Allen, and Jennings Chord Allen.
