Highland, Doris Edna
Funeral services for Doris Edna Highland, 52, of 39166 South Drive, Lebec, were held Thursday in the First Baptist Church of Tehachapi. Officiating was the Rev. Larry Haynes, pastor of the Tehachapi Assembly of God Church. Interment followed services in the Tehachapi District Cemetery. Mrs. Highland died Dec. 18 in a Tehachapi hospital. She was born Oct. 24, 1910, in Ketchum, Idaho, and had lived in the state 40 years and in Kern County for 19 years. Survivors include her husband, Richard G. Highland of Lebec; one son, Richard L., of Bakersfield; two daughters, Mary Louise Highland, Lebec, and Mrs. Virginia Burson, Tehachapi; two sisters, Marie Merrill and Lucy Taylor, both of Compton; three brothers, Claude Brinegar, Boise, Idaho, Joseph Brinegar of Sacramento, and Buster Brinegar of Oregon; two grandchildren, Morris Burton, Jr., and Sophie Burton, both of Tehachapi. Stickel’s Mortuary, Tehachapi, was in charge.
