Shirley was born in Southern California December 27, 1936. She graduated High School and attended College for a time. She worked for the State of California, Mental Health Services as a Unit Supervisor. After her retirement, she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, doll making and she loved animals.
She is survived her four loving children; brothers, George and James Swofford; sister, Barbara Genders and 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jones and Billie Swofford and brothers, Ronald and Donald Swofford.
