Perry Isaac Hutchins, age 68, of Ellenboro, died Thursday, December 25, 2014 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.

Born September 1, 1946 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Tildon Hutchins and Mary Getty Hutchins. Perry worked for Stonecutter Mills and General Fireproofing for several years and then worked with his wife as a house parent for the Baptist Children's Home in Thomasville for seventeen years. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and a grandson, Darmie Langley.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-seven years, Ruth Hutchins; seven children, Valerie Lail and husband, Tim of Ellenboro, Robbie Hutchins and wife, Jennifer of Mauldin, SC, Heath Maybin and wife, Melissa of Rutherfordton, Martha Gordon and husband, Steve of Bakersville, NC, Cindy Heatherly and husband, Buck of Hendersonville, Roger Barnette also of Hendersonville and Theresa Barnette of Rutherfordton; two brothers, John Hutchins and Clarence Hutchins and wife, Sandy all of Caroleen; two sisters, Georgia Owens of Ellenboro and Betty Baynard of Bostic. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Victory Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Toney and Reverend Johnny McCarty officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
