DEAN Hugh Maxwell, died December 29, 1992, in Dayton, Ohio, enroute to celebrate Christmas with his entire family. He was born April 18, 1922 in Norman, Ok. to Carney and Beulah Dean. He graduated from Chandler High School as Valedictorian and Alumnus of the Year. WWII saw him serve in the Army and, after the war, he returned and graduated with an Industrial Engineering Degree from Okla. A&M College (OSU) at Stillwater, Ok. In college, he was in the Air Force Reserve and the Engineering Club. He married Dorothy Box in 1950, who survives. He worked as a manager with IBM for over 33 years. Mr. Dean was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Okla. City where he served in several capacities. He was a deacon and, last year, was vice-chairman of the deacons. He was recently elected as chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee, and has served on the Falls Creek/Glorieta Committee and Counting Committee. He has also been a Sunday School teacher and church training director. He gave willingly of his time to his church. The Chandler Alumni "Over 50" Club elected him to serve as chairman for the coming year. He is survived by two sons and their wives, Philip and Marsha of Oklahoma, and Gregory and Cindy of Ohio. He was PaPa to the six grandchildren, Michele, Courtney and Elise, Erin, Andrew and Brian. He has two sisters living, Margaret Taylor of Bristow, Ok. and Dorothy Cox of Washington. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Kaufman. He was a beloved husband, dad and PaPa, and will be missed by all. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 1993, Louise Prichard Chapel at First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City. BIOG: NAME:
