Lula Frank Medford Martin "Lou"
CHARLOTTE - Lula Frank "Lou" Medford Martin of Charlotte passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. She was born in Haywood County to the late Bryan and Lena Medford on August 19th. Lou attended Waynesville Township High School and Florida Southern College before making Charlotte, NC her home. Charlotte was where she met her
husband, Ed, and raised their children. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and American Star.


After retiring from Eastern Airlines, Lou and Ed moved to Pawley's Island, SC. At Pawley's, she received her real estate license, was a member of Movable Feast, The Herb Society and continued to be an avid bridge player.
Lou and Ed returned to Charlotte in 2010.

She will be remembered for her extensive cookbook, china, silver, crystal and antique collections. Lou is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Edward Carson Martin and five children: Sally Kasper, Carol Jernigan (Perry), Jean Grist, Beth Bumpass (Brian) and Carson Martin, Jr. In addition, ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren are mourning the loss of their Mama Lou. Lou is also survived by a sister and brother of Waynesville, NC (Mildred Turner,
Dick Medford) and the Fly Girls of Eastern Airlines.

A service will be held Saturday, December 13th at 1:00pm at Selwyn Avenue Presbyterian Church. Memorials can be sent to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 or Selwyn Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, NC.
