Another one of the pioneers of Pulaski county passed away Friday, April 21st, when Henry Edward Cappis died at his home in Harrison township. He was born in Beaver township, Union county, Pennsylvania, and was sixty-six years, nine months and fifteen days old at the time of his death. He with his parents came to this county in August 1835, when but a few white people were to be found anywhere in the present boundary of the county and while it was yet a part of the surrounding counties. He was quite a large boy before the last Indians were removed from the neighborhood and was six years old when the county was first formally organized. On December 24, 1857, he was wedded to Lizy Jane Wright. To this union eleven children were born, five of whom had gone hence to the Spirit land. The sorrowing wife and six children are left to mourn his departure. His funeral was held from the house Sunday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. Handley.
