DELBERT E. "ROSIE" ROSE, 83, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a Tool & Die Maker with Merkler Machine Works for 30 years, retiring in 1989, and was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran. He was involved with Waynedale Masonic Lodge 739 F. & A.M.; Scottish Valist of Fort Wayne; American Legion Post 241; V.F.W.; Post 10006 past commander, four times; Forty & Eight, and was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors include daughter, Christine K. and Owen J. Hinkle of Fort Wayne; brother, Theodore F. Rose Jr. of Denver, Colo.; sister-in-law, Melba June Faylor of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Rose in 2001, two sisters and two brothers.

Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1700 E. Pettit Ave. with calling one hour prior. Calling is also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 1421. Entombment in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials to Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church.
