ROGER L. SHAW, 60 years old, died in Rhode Island Hospital on May 29, 2012, as a result of a motorcycle accident on May 5, 2012. He was born in Bangor, ME., the son of the late Byron and Alta May (Sands) Shaw. He considered i his heart, Berkley "God's Country." He was a decorated Vietnam War Veteran. He owned and operated G&R Refrigerated Transport with his wife, Robin. His hobbies were repairing & restoring cars and trucks and riding his Harley motocycle, which he described, as feeling free like a bird.

Roger loved to be outdoors enjoying God's open spaces. He loved cookouts with his family and friends, spending time with his cat and three dogs. He was a strong, loving and unselfish person. He lived the music of the 60's & country western oldies.

He was the husband of Robin Shaw and was the father of Thomas Tran and his wife, Nicole, Robert Tran, Bridget Shaw and son-in-law, Jaman Murrell. Roger was the step father of Matthew & Nicholas Ruff and brother of Rodney Shaw and his wife, Donna, Arlene Gould and her husband, Frank, step brother to Bobby Gould, Jr. and brother of the late Gerald Shaw and Brenda Shaw. He was the former husband of Tina Tran and the grandfather of 8. He was a loving uncle to Bobby, Gary, David, Paul, Denny, Nicole and the late SSG Eric Shaw, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2010.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday from 11 AM to 3 PM in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South) in Taunton. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 PM with Military Honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
