U.S. Veteran He had worked in appliance maintenance for Fulton Furniture, Eagelewood Estates and Coca-Cola. He had lived in this area all of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years- JoAnn (Guill) Poyner of Martin, TN, 2 sons: James Edward Poyner and Michael Allen Poyner, both of Martin, TN. 3 daughters: Carol Ann Damron of Martin, TN, Lisa Michelle Cook of Herrin, IL and Barbara Nell Roberts of Martin, TN; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. 4 brothers: Marshall Poyner of Lynnville,KY, Bobby Poyner of Murray, KY, Billy Poyner of Surprise, AZ and Larry Poyner of Farmington, KY and a sister - June Canter of Lynnville, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents- Cecil Hassell "C.H." Poyner and Opal (Seay) Poyner Ray.
