Hubert Lee Griffin, 66, of 6652 Virginia Avenue, Bassett, died December 22, 1914 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
He was born October 22, 1948, in Henry County, VA, to the late Curtis Lee Griffin and Viola Carter Griffin.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. He attended schools in Henry County and had been an insurance salesman for more than 25 years. He attended Daystar Ministries.
He is survived by three sons, Rodney Dale Griffin and wife Sherry of Snow Creek, David Ray Griffin and wife Meredith of Collinsville, and Steven Lee Griffin of Bassett; three sisters, Gracie Gilley and husband Bennie of Stuart, Linda Bryant of Bassett and Carolyn Joyce Manning and husband Tim of Bassett; three brothers, Cecil Griffin and wife Karen of Troy, Tenn., Wayne Griffin of Fieldale, and Ted Griffin and wife Terri of Rocky Mount; and ten grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday December 26, 2014, at 12:00 noon, at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Randy Sawyers officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the funeral and other times at the home of his sister, at 342 Wall Street, Bassett.
Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park with full military honors.
