He was born on December 16, 1936 to Alef Vickers Trant and Josh Trant in Groves, Texas. Gary was a lifelong resident of Groves.
He retired from IBEW Local 479 as an electrician after over 40 years. Gary was a very well known avid pool player, placing in several state and national ACS and BCA tournaments. He also loved to go dancing. He was an active member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie 3743, for over 50 years.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Gloria McGinley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Audrey Guidry Trant; his two sons, Greg Trant and his wife, Laura and Bert Trant; two grandchildren; four nephews; one niece and sister-in-law Vicki Guidry Robison and husband Lofton Robison.
