Joy James Parker, 66, of Acworth, died Tuesday, December 23, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Saturday afternoon in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Ike Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Bascomb United Methodist Church Cemetery. A native of Pennsylvania, Ms. Parker had lived in Acworth for many years. She was a former school teacher and had taught at the Hollywood Christian School in Hollywood, FL and also at the Shiloh Hills Christian School in Kennesaw. She retired as a department manager from the Walmart Corporation on Chastain Meadows Parkway after 25 years of service. She is survived by her spouse, Thomas Kemp of Acworth; daughter, Tiffany (Martin) Nelson of Charles Town, West Virginia; grandchildren, Gabrielle and Noah Nelson; brothers, Clifford Woessner of Pennsylvania and Warren Woessner of Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive.
