Meredith was born on April 27, 1935 to Melvin and Vivian Montgomery in Leonard, MO and married Ann Vandike on April 2, 1961. Married for just shy of 50 years, they spent time living in Kansas in the towns of Winfield, Seneca & Marysville before moving to KCMO where Meredith lived for the next 28 years. Meredith spent many years on the road as a professional truck driver with both Montgomery Ward and Yellow Freight. After his retirement in 1986, he stayed home and cared for his wife until her passing on February 26, 2011. Meredith had many interests and hobbies including shooting guns, working in his yard, taking care of his truck, and spending many hours visiting with the waitresses at his favorite restaurants.
He is survived by his three children, Debbie and John Snellings (Herkimer, KS), Jean and Rudy Finney (Cainsville, MO) and Jim Montgomery (Marysville, KS); 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. His is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ann Montgomery; his sister, Fern Stephens and brothers, Harold and Norman Montgomery. He will be dearly missed.
