Jack B. “BaBa” Irwin, 88, of Amarillo, died Monday, December 22, 2014. Jack was born on December 25, 1925 in Amarillo to Forrest Burton and Nettie Taylor.
He grew up in Amarillo, graduated from Amarillo High School, and attended Amarillo College. On November 30, 1969, he married Fran Weirick in Amarillo.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral. He is a retired partner in Cornell & Company P.C. and a retired supervisor of the Amarillo School Crossing Guards.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Fran; three daughters, Cynthia Cox of Houston, Tina Stitt and husband Don and Cindy Taylor and husband Dave of Amarillo; three sons, Dr. Rick Irwin and wife Kathy of Albuquerque, Chris Irwin and wife Jennifer of Sherman and Jeff Weirick of Amarillo; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Llano Cemetery Mausoleum with Father Scott Raef officiating.
