WESTERNPORT - Robert Lee Spiker , 56, of 221 Wood St., Westernport, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born April 15, 1951 in Westernport, he was the son of the late Harrison C. and Ida (Smiley) Spiker . A sister, Mary Parker, a father-in-law, John Donnelly, and two brothers-in-law, Pat and Tim Donnelly, also preceded him in death.
Bob was a retired heavy equipment operator, having worked for Westvaco Resources Inc. He loved animals and enjoyed fishing. He dearly loved his cats and they were pappy's babies.
He leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Linda (Donnelly) Spiker ; two sons, Carl Dean Spiker of Westernport and John Harrison Spiker of Cumberland; a daughter, Robin Spiker and fiancé Mark Schade, both of Westernport; a step daughter, Kimberly Lonas and husband Jim of Winchester, Va.; three brothers, Carl Spiker and wife Shirley of Oakland , James Spiker and wife Sue of Westernport and Thomas Spiker and wife Cindy of Lonaconing; three sisters, Betty Moses and husband Charles of Lonaconing, JoAnn Spiker and husband David of Lonaconing and Nancy Bray and husband Don of Westernport. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Hannah Marie Spiker of Cumberland; two step grandsons, Ryan and Joshua Lonas of Winchester; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Nancy Donnelly Blamer of Keyser, W.Va.; a special and dear friend, Walter Bishop, whom he considered his brother; a special neighbor, Paul Roderick; a step brother-in-law, Fred Blamer and wife Brenda of Brunswick; a special aunt, Sarah Spiker ; and special cousin, Melissa Andrews, both of Pennsylvania.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James McCune officiating.
Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Spiker , Aaron Spiker , David Spiker , Brian Moses, Donnie Moses and D.J. Bray. Honorary pallbearers will Walter Bishop and Curtis Spiker .
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Allegany County Animal Shelter, 717 Furnace St., Cumberland, MD 21502.
