William was the first of eight children born to Clarkson McConnell and Margaret Elder McConnell. The family relocated to Missouri about 1900 where William’s father was a farmer. William relocated to Fort Worth, Texas about 1910 where he was a livestock company manager. William married to Louise More on 30 June 1910 at Omaha, Nebraska. They made their home at Denver where William was first a real estate agent and later a public accountant. In 1948, he was an instructor with Barnes School of Commerce. William and Louise were the parents of one child, Margaret McConnell.
