Janice Allen Holt, 77, passed away on Monday morning at IU Health Bloomington hospital after a 32 year battle with cancer. Janice was born September 13, 1937 in Bronston, KY, the daughter of Louis and Beatrice Allen. Janice graduated from Scotland High School in 1955. Janice was active in the First Baptist church for more than 50 years and also a active member of the Delta Theta Thau Sorority for more than 50 years. Janice was active in the local library, Cancer Society, Pink Lady at Linton Hospital and worked in the Family Life Center. Janice Retired from Crane in 1994 as a Configuration management specialist.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Gayann and one brother, Norman Roger Allen.

Survivors include: her husband of 39 years, Robert G. Holt; two sisters, Joy Flinn Cummings (Michael) of Ellettsville and Anita Reach of Kansas City, Kansas; three daughters, Kimbra Lee Weymouth (Michael) of Fort Myers, FL, Karann Gay Hudson of Summerville, S.C. and Krista Jan Hudson of Kihei, HI (Maui); one son, Neal M. Hudson (Laura) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; two grandsons, Kevin Lee Huxhold (Andrea Barbosa) of Ft. Myers, FL. And William Mathew Hudson of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; one step granddaughter, Ashley Vlope of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; three great grandchildren, Kiva Huxhold of New York State, Aiyana Barbosa and Ellis Huxhold both of Ft. Myers, FL; two step grandsons, Andrew Weymouth of Ft. Myers, Fl and David Weymouth of Spencer, IN; three adopted grandchildren while visiting in Charleston, S.C., Kesler, Jack and Luke Hyman; and several nieces and nephews.

Janice loved her wide reaching family (Cousins by the dozens) and got to travel all over to visit with them. She especially loved to go to her family reunions in Tennessee and in Bloomington. She loved her church families and friends, and had lots of them. She never saw a stranger. She especially enjoyed our trip to Maui in 2012 to see Krista, but by that time she was getting tired easily.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield and from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Bloomfield First Baptist Church, with Rev. Nathan Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
