Time-Life magazine war correspondent. One of the first American war correspondents to be killed during WW2.

On April 27th, Jacoby flew out of Melbourne, accompanying Brig. General Harold H. George on a trip to inspect air bases. Two days later, while preparing to board a plane at a base near Darwin, Australia, a fighter plane went out of control during take off, and crashed into the group. Jacoby was killed instantly.
