Funeral services for Mr. Linden Ray Barnett , age 87, will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at the Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church where he was a member, in Plain Dealing, Louisiana, with Rev. Deryl Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Plain Dealing under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, La.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2014, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing,
Mr. Barnett was born on June 27, 1927 to Charles Rodney and Teddie Lee Thomas Barnett in Plain Dealing, LA and passed away on December 22, 2014. Mr. Barnett was a lifelong resident of this area. He retired as a foreman for International Paper company after 45 years of service. He was a Veteran of the US Navy and served in WWII. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Flora Van Horn Reich Barnett; two sons, Ronnie Barnett and wife Kathy, of Plain Dealing, LA, Billy Barnett and wife Theresa, of Bossier City, LA; four grandchildren, Angie Barnett Beard and husband, Rusty, Ronald Ray Barnett Jr., and wife Melanie, Crissy Barnett Sitter, Nathan Scarlett; four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Jarod, Anna, and Ethan; a sister, Betty Mixon and husband, Kennon.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Clara Barnett, parents; and a sister, Lillian Edmonds.
Pallbearers will be Larry Wallace, Randy Matlock, Ronnie Barnett Jr., Cameron Barnett, Rusty Beard, Nathan Scarlett.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Darst, Jarod Barnett, Chad Darst
