Stella Pope, 78, Waldron, died at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 1985, at the St. Frances Hospital in Indianapolis.

Pope was born in Shelby County, Dec. 26, 1906, the daughter of Albert and Josephine Meltzer Bales. She married Scott Pope on June 1, 1930, and he survives. She was a member Waldron United Methodist Church, the Waldron Order of the Eastern Star and the Waldron Community Club. She was a life-time resident of Waldron. She was in the hardware Business with her husband for many years.

Other survivors include a son, Jack, Waldron; two daughters, Mrs. Lou Ann Franklin, Shelbyville, and Mrs. Fay Iorio, Crown Point; one sister, Mrs. Marjorie Neibert, Muncie; and three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother.

Funeral services will be at the Glenn E. George Funeral Home in St. Paul at 10;30 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Larry Beiderman officiating. Burial will be in the Van Pelt Cemetery.

Visitation is at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m.

Family members request memorials go to the Shelby County Heart Fund or the Waldron United Methodist Church.
