FAYETTEVILLE Violet M. (Altland) Becker, 82, formerly of New Oxford, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the Village of Laurel Run in Fayetteville.
She was the wife of the late Mark A. Becker, Jr, who died April 23, 2003. Violet was born July 25, 1932, in Spring Grove, the daughter of the late Norman and Mabel (Mummert) Altland.
Violet was a member of St. John's U.C.C. in New Chester.
Violet is survived by a son, Bernard E. Laughman, Sr and his wife Sara of New Oxford, a daughter, Barbara J. Keen and her husband Rick of Thomasville, Ga.;, two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a step grandson; four step great-grandchildren; and two brothers, William Altland of Spring Grove and Donald Altland of York. She was predeceased by six brothers; Norman, Jr, Rich, Earl, Cleason, Emory and Amos Altland; and two sisters, Mary Altland and Grace Heistand.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, with her pastor, Rev. Douglas C. Hahn officiating. Burial will be in the New Oxford Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
