Ronnie W. Mays, age 55 of Columbia, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Monday, December 22, 2014 at NHC Hillview.

Ronnie was born August 25, 1959 in Columbia, Tennessee to Bobby and the late Lou Moore Mays.

Ronnie was a notorious hard worker spending a great deal of time as a welder. He took pride in providing for his family. He gathered true joy out the small things in life such as doing small projects around the house, working on his lawn, growing tomatoes, boating and fishing. After finding out he had cancer Ronnie put a world class fight on behalf of his greatest loves, his children.

Funeral Services will be held Monday December 29th at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, TN. The family will receive friends on Monday before the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. till service time. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Debbie Mays; son, Matthew Mays; daughter, Mary Mays; brothers, Michael (Anne) Mays and David (Lynn) Mays; nephews, John Spencer Mays, Mike Mays, John Wise, Shawn Hein, and Daniel Sassaman; nieces, Amber Eisenacher, Nikki Tobis, and Meghan Tobis; brothers-in-law, Dave (Becky) Sassaman, Jr., and John (Paulette) Sassaman; sisters-in-law, Bev (Bob) Hein and Linda (George) Tobis; and father-in-law, Dave Sassaman, Sr.

He is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Beverly Sassaman.
