Death of Alex Shoaff
Alexander Shoaff, 79 years old, died Thursday night at his home, 415 East Fourth street, of old age and general debility. He had been in failing health for a long time. Funeral services will be held at the house Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. The body will be shipped by the Coffeyville Furniture company to Wagstaff, Kan., for burial Sunday.

The eldest son of Henry Shoaf and Sarah Craver Shoaf of the Southfork area, Forsyth, North Carolina. Alex, a descendant of Moravian families of Wachovia - moved to the Moravian community of Hope, Indiana and married Susan Louisa Clayton on December 29, 1857. Sons Henry Clayton Shoaff and Franklin Howard Shoaff lived to adulthood and continued this Midwest branch of the Shoaf family.
