Lois Louise Yates, 70, of Yates Center, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 21, 2014.
She was born September 5, 1944 in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of Tracy Marion and Florence Louise (Trower) Jones.
She spent most of her early years in the Atchison area. She had made her home in Yates Center since 2000 and, most recently, with her son Eric and his family in Yates Center.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Yates Center.
She was preceded in death two sons, Phillip Kuron and David Kuron; her parents, Tracy and Florence Jones; and three sisters, Marjorie Wilkerson, Barbara Mitchell, and Patricia Wise.
She leaves her son, Eric Kuron and wife Jackie of Yates Center; three grandsons, James Kuron and wife Lillian, Yates Center, Christopher Kuron and wife Ciara, Yates Center, and Phillip Kuron, Marietta, GA; two brothers, Raymond Peden, St. Joseph, MO, and Kenneth Renkin, St. Joseph, MO; two sisters, Earlene Renkin, St. Joseph, MO, and Donna Church, Phoenix, AZ; other relatives and friends. Lois had always loved animals and took great joy in her grandsons. She will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at Yates Center Cemetery.
The family will meet with friends from 10:00 A.M. Wednesday until leaving for the cemetery at Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Yates Center Meals On Wheels and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
