Milan Melvin Casper,72, former Rigby postmaster, died August 12, 1985, at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg of cancer.

He was born Feb. 22, 1913, in Lewisville, the son of George Melvin and Nancy Oleen Grover Casper. He attended Rigby High School and Ricks College. He married Laura Hayes, Jan. 12, 1933, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He served with the 116th Army Engineer Battalion in the Pacific Theater during WW11. He was employed as postmaster in Rigby and as a public accountant.

He is survived by his wife, Laura, of Rigby; four daughters, Lori Nan Chapman and Carole Coombs of St. George, Utah, and Dianne Rolfe and Judith Lynn Steiner of Rexburg; one son, Milan Kent Casper of Boulder, Colorado; his mother, Nancy Oleen Grover Casper of Rexburg; two brothers, Willis Casper of Rexburg and Reo Casper of Ogden; and twenty three grandchildren.

He was buried in Rigby Pioneer Cemetery
