Betty Lorraine Drake, 83, St. Albans, WV; formerly a resident of Green Cove Springs, FL; passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV. Born August 23, 1931 in Charleston, WV; she was the daughter of the late Leonard Thomas Miller and Beatrice A. Canova Miller. Betty was a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church in St. Albans; a former clergy at St. Johns Cathedral in Jacksonville, FL; and a retiree from PMI.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert T. Drake. Betty is survived by two sons, Robert Thomas Drake (Lee) and John Alden Drake (Sandy); two daughters, Rebecca Lorraine Chandler (Darrell) and Roberta Lee-Adah Dorsey (John); and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 PM, Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Hardage-giddens Rivermead Funeral Home, 127 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL with Father Raja Zabaneh officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Green Cove Springs, FL.
A special thanks to the nurses and staff at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home for their excellent care and compassion. A memorial service will be held at St. Marks Episcopal Church in St. Albans, WV at a later date.
