Peter m. Jensen, 86, pioneer resident of this city, died Sunday afternoon after a long illness from causes incident to age.
He was born in Aarhus, Denmark, August 17, a son of Mads and Maren Jacobsen Jensen. His parents joined the L. D. S. church and came to America in 1857. They crossed the plains with a handcart company and after their arrival in Utah lived some year in Goshen, moving to Mt. Pleasant in 1862. As a young man Mr. Jensen was employed as a railroad worker in the Transcontinental railroad. From 1871 to 1879 he engaged in __ in Nevada. He was a Black Hawk Indian War Veteran. He later operated a confectionery here and retired in 1926.
Surviving are his widow, five sons and a daughter, John F. Jensen, Wendover, Utah; Charles M. Jensen, Delta; William J. and John Edward Jensen, Salt Lake city; Hugh Jensen, Los Angeles; and Mrs. Ruby J. Paulson, Mt. Pleasant; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
