Youngest daughter of Johann Georg Oesterle (John Easterla) and Wilbura Elisabeth F. Fritz (Elizabeth Easterla), Emma Oesterle/Easterla had three daughters and one son -- Dorothea ("Dora") and Robert Lee ("Bud"), twins who were born 1 June 1887; Anna Christina, born 8 April 1892; and Caroline Fredericka ("Carrie"), born 15 May 1895. Emma married Henry Edward Klemme on 16 May 1894 in Lafayette County, Missouri. All of Emma's children had the surname of "Klemme," later spelled "Klemmer." Henry was the father of her youngest daughter, but it is unknown if he was the father of her other children (DNA tests seem to indicate that Robert and Caroline may not have had the same father).

Emma's burial is listed in "Tombstone Inscriptions of Lafayette County, Missouri," vol. VII, p. 184B, in an appendix of additional burials in Arnold Cemetery, Napoleon, Missouri, with the note, "Arnold Cemetery appears in volume I. These are additional burials found in the church records; most without tombstones." That source says Emma died 10 Oct. 1895. However, a letter written by Emma's mother Elizabeth on 14 Oct. 1895 says Emma had died Thursday night, 11 Oct. 1895, of "melariel fever and conjestion of the Brains" -- but a false tradition said she was thought to have died in a horse and buggy accident.
