The vice president of security for Morgan-Stanley/Dean-Witter is credited for saving the lives of 2,700 of the company’s employees in the south tower during the Sept 11, 2001 World Trade Center terrorist attack. Rescorla also headed evacuation during the 1993 bombings. A retired U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, the Cornwall native had earlier served in the British military. Following the war in Viet Nam, he attended Oklahoma University on the G.I. bill, and later earned a master’s degree and a law degree. He was last seen in a 10th floor stairwell helping others evacuate.Died in the World Trade Building #2
