John "Jack" T. Zeigler Jr., 89, of Orangeburg, SC died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, December 20, 2014.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Orangeburg. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary of the church immediately following the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Orangeburg.

Jack was born in Orangeburg, SC a son of the late John Tatum Zeigler, Sr. and Anne Louise Gelzer Zeigler. He was married to the late Peggy Lois Poole Zeigler. After graduating from Orangeburg High School, he attended Clemson University. While at Clemson, he was called into service for World War II. After an Honorable Discharge from the Army Air Corp in 1945, he completed his degree in Civil Engineering from Clemson in 1949. His love of flying continued after his military service and he purchased his own plane. He flew to many interesting places with his friends, including a trip to Havana, Cuba. He married his beloved wife Peggy Poole in 1956 and they raised 3 children. He retired from A.E. Finley & Associates after many years of service. After his retirement he served as Chairman of the Board of the Santee-Cooper Resort. He was a lifelong member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church and of IPTAY.

He is survived by his daughter, Katherine Poole Zeigler; sons, John "Jack" T. Zeigler, III, and Eugene "Gene" Poole Zeigler (Cindy) of Columbia, SC; sister, Anne Porcher Perrin (Pat) of Spartanburg; two nieces and one nephew.
