Funeral services for Alzoria F. Byford, 69, of Chickasha will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Alice Wendling officiating.
Alzoria F. Byford was born in Chickasha on November 22, 1942, the daughter of Rady and Mary (Miller) Roe. She died on Sunday, May 27, 2012, at home in Chickasha.
Alzoria married Boyd Leatherwood in 1958. To that union her four children were born. Later she married Luke Byford in Chickasha on September 4, 1987.
Alzoria went to work at Maremont Corporation in 1973, and retired in January 2001 due to illness.
Her most favorite thing to do was to play Skip-Bo with her husband every morning and night. She always looked forward to her Saturday morning visits from Chick. Her kids and grandkids were her life. She always enjoyed cooking Thanksgiving dinner for her family.
She was preceded in death by: both parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Agnes and Howard Byford; grandson, Justin McMullen; an infant brother; brother, Bill Roe; three brothers-in-law, Jim Byford, Jerry Leatherwood and Don Leatherwood.
Survivors include: husband, Luke Byford of the home; children, Kimberly Valerius of Gracemont, Timothy Leatherwood of Alex, Dedra McMullen of Alex, and Scott Leatherwood of Woodward; step-daughters, Gayla Davis of Dibble and Deanne Ballard of Marlow; sisters, Debbie Brown and Guwanna Moore; brothers, Doug Long and E.J. Busby; brother-in-law, Nick Byford; sisters-in-law, Peggy Perdue, Darlene Leatherwood, Mary Leatherwood, Margaret Bern, Jan Byford, Helen Byford and Carol Roe; nineteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren with one on the way; and several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives too numerous to mention!
Interment will be in the Verden Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
