PLEASANT LAKE — CARL J BEARD, 83, of Pleasant Lake died Saturday at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Beard worked for more than 30 years at Dana Weatherhead in Angola. He served in the US Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion post in Butler and the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Waterloo.
He was born Feb. 11, 1924 in Slick, Okla., to Carl and Myrtle (Lockhart) Beard. They preceded him in death. He married June Love on Aug 29, 1945. She died June 3, 2003.
Surviving are two sons both of Pleasant Lake; two sisters, Wynonna Gillispie of Lake Wales Fla, and Erma McKeeman of Babson Park Fla; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at a later date. There will be no calling. HE Johnson Funeral Home Butler is handling arrangements.
